Optional Concentrations
Courses used to fulfill major requirements may also be used toward concentration requirements, if listed among the approved courses below.
Federal financial aid will not pay for an optional concentration course unless that course is also necessary to complete the 120 hours required for a degree or the 39 hours of required upper-level credit. Contact Financial Aid if you have questions about your federal aid eligibility.
Additional Degree Requirements
Satisfactorily complete all graduation requirements listed in the academic policies section of this catalog.
Earn a grade of C or higher in all ACCT courses, all Area F courses, and all Common Business Knowledge courses. Common Business Knowledge courses are ACCT 2101 , ACCT 2102 , BCOM 2285 , BUAD 2172 , CBIS 2220 , ECON 2105 , ECON 2106 , FINC 3131 , LENB 3135 , MGMT 3101 , MGMT 3141 , MGMT 3165 , MGMT 4195 , and MKTG 3161 , and the course taken to fulfill the international business requirement.
Students may take an upper-level accounting course a maximum of two times in attempting to earn a grade of “C” or higher. The limit applies to upper level (3000 or higher) accounting required or elective classes. If a student cannot achieve a grade of “C” or better in these first two attempts, they are not permitted to enroll in any upper level accounting classes for a period of one year. This does not include students that have withdrawn from a section and received a “W” on their transcript.
The accounting major senior exit requirement is a graduation survey that will be completed during the final semester before graduation. Students will be contacted late in the semester with instructions for completing the survey.
