Field of Study and Cognate Requirements
Satisfactorily complete each of the following courses, which serve as prerequisites or preparatory work for your major classes. Some courses may also be used to fulfill Core IMPACTS requirements. Students who use these courses to fulfill both requirements will have more hours of general electives. Field of Study and Cognate Requirements
Satisfactorily complete each of the following courses: Science Sequence
Satisfactorily complete either the two-semester principles sequence in Chemistry or Physics. Both the lecture and the accompanying or embedded lab for each course must be completed to fulfill this requirement. These courses may also be used to fulfill Core IMPACTS requirements. Students who use these courses to fulfill both requirements will have more hours of general electives. Foreign Language Requirement
Students must demonstrate competence in a foreign language at the level of the second university course (1002). Senior Capstone
Satisfactorily complete 4-6 hours from the following courses: Other Requirements
- A grade of C or better is required in all courses counting toward the major.
- A minimum of 39 semester hours overall must be at the 3000-4000 level.
- Complete the First-Year Academic Seminar with a satisfactory grade. Students who transfer to GC are exempt from this requirement
Mathematics B.S. (Teaching Concentration)
Core Areas A-E
Satisfactorily complete core Areas A-E, as listed in the Core Curriculum section of this catalog. Requirements
Satisfactorily complete the following courses if not already taken in Areas A or D: Note:
Any transfer student who has not completed the courses in Area F, or their equivalents, must take these courses at GC. The courses taken to satisfy this requirement must be distinct from those used to satisfy Areas A-E. Major Requirements (Teaching)
Satisfactorily complete the following courses: Cognate Area (Teaching)
Satisfactorily complete the following courses if not already taken in Areas D or F: Foreign Language Requirement
